Changing human mindset: A precursor of sustainable tomorrow

Has the global scientific community ever bothered to pause for a minute to ponder on the opportunity cost of international programs aimed at ensuring a sustainability of Earth?

Yes, we have definitely gained a lot through these efforts to understand the causes and their effects. Today we are drowned in a world of information, but thirsty for knowledge. As a species, we have been blind or pretend to be blind to our responsibilities to the planet.

Unless transformative social actions are initiated we will find that sustainability remains a mirage forever. Transformation has to happen from within. Unless we are ready to change our mind set, the opportunity cost will continue to escalate meteorically, before it plummets to negatives (when a new natural order gets established).

Can we think of human society devoid of 'money' (as we understand and value it today)? If we succeed in seeing so, it would be the first transformative step towards sustainability.

Is it not time that we collectively start to raise questions as why people behave the way they do? What motivates them and what demotivates?

Perhaps answer to these will help fix the issue of sustainability. If you feel, you have an answer kindly let know.
